چکیده

The electrochemical behavior of a biomaterial surface in local conditions is significant factor affecting the success implant placement. This particular importance metallic biomaterials which can undergo oxidation, corrosion and subsequent degradation. study reports new data on additively manufactured (AM) patterned titanium alloys, analyzed after 1 12 h immersion three different media mimicking normal, inflammatory severe conditions. Polarization showed that resistance increases with increasing time all cases. It was found condition destructive effect passive layer's triggered by H2O2 whereas condition, albumin, lactate, have synergistic towards decreasing layers. Electrochemical impedance suggests charged albumins are attracting to localized pitting areas, changing diffusion transport corrosive species at interface metal/passive layer. tests also proven laser-assisted alloys surfaces an improved simulated solutions compared untreated same composition. suggested topography wettability positive factors contributing this performance specimens.

Rapamycin promotes osteogenesis under inflammatory conditions

Chronic periodontitis, a common oral disease, usually results in irreversible bone resorption. Bone regeneration is a complex process between bone‑forming activity of osteoblasts and bone‑resorbing activity of osteoclasts, and still remains a challenge for physicians clinically. A previous study demonstrated that the mechanistic target of rapamycin signaling pathway is involved in osteogenic di...

EFFECT OF ANODIC OXIDATION ON THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF NICKEL-TITANIUM SHAPE MEMORY ALLOYS IN SIMULATED BODY FLUIDS (SBF)

The effect of anodic oxidation of a NiTi shape memory alloy in sulfuric acid electrolyte on its surface characteristics was studied. Surface roughness was measured by roughness tester. Surface morphology was studied using optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Corrosion behavior was specified by recording Potentiodynamic polarization cur...

Enteric flora expands gut lamina propria CX3CR1+ dendritic cells supporting inflammatory immune responses under normal and inflammatory conditions.

CD103 or CX(3)CR1 surface expression defines distinct dendritic cells (DCs) and macrophages in the murine lamina propria of the colon (cLP). We investigated the surface marker and functional phenotype of CD103(+) and CX(3)CR1(+) cLP DCs and their role in transfer colitis. cLP CD11c(+) cells were isolated from specific pathogen-free or germ-free mice to elucidate the role of the commensal flora ...

Biocompatibility and Inflammatory Potential of Titanium Alloys Cultivated with Human Osteoblasts, Fibroblasts and Macrophages

The biomaterials used to maintain or replace functions in the human body consist mainly of metals, ceramics or polymers. In orthopedic surgery, metallic materials, especially titanium and its alloys, are the most common, due to their excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. Aside from the established Ti6Al4V alloy, shape memory materials such as nickel-titani...
